Hi . Your post is very good. I have a question about ussd; How to send the amount of balance that is shown by running the code at + cusd in the monitor serial as SMS? In fact, how can we understand the balance of the sim800l SIM card with a mobile phone?
Hi, Each network provider has its own number to check the balance and there is no standard response.
On the sim800L (so-called esp-800L board
https://a.aliexpress.com/KBRUiY3A) I cannot get any response to AT commands through putty even though the led is flashing once a second or so (no sim card). I tried uploading latest 800L firmware but after first progress bar goes to 100% it says something like hw ID not matching. I tried both rs2101 and ch340 usb to uart and neither work (both test ok with loopback). Does anyone have any ideas here?
Ok after a LOT of searching I managed to find 24MB firmware (the ones available here are all 16MB) and it sort of uploadw but again a different error – different baseband! Ugh

what is the different of default setting in SIM900 and SIM800C about CUSD code?
its very strange that in both of them CUSD is 0 by default .

i used ATD”*100#”; in SIM900 to check the charge balance for many years with out any problem but in SIM800C it doesn’t work !!
i now we can use AT+CUSD=1,”*100#”,15 or we can enable the CUSD by AT+CUSD=1 before using ATD
but i want to know is there other way to check the balance with ATD command in SIM800C ?
for example add some extra param to ATD command ?!
because i produce many device and can’t change the program for end user.
my firmware version are as below:
1418B08SIM800C24_BT
1137B06SIM900M64_ST_ENHANCE

EAT refers to embedded AT functionality, while 32 here refersto the flash memory 32MB
You won’t be able to flash as the module you have is having 24MB flash

I have both Sim800L and Sim900L (EVB) boards. Neither will work in South Africa. I can connect to both and send/receive AT commands from PC using UART device or from Arduino, both will not connect to local service providers (the sim I am using tested in a normal Cellphone, all ok).
Some blogs mention firmware update, none is working, I used the files form your site.
Any help, please?
